Lukas Oravec Quartet

grundades i början av 2012. Dess kvalitet tilltalade omedelbart alla jazzentusiaster.
Kvartetten vann topppriset ”Young Faces of Slovak Jazz” och kvartettledaren har vunnit ett ”pris för tolkningsuppträdande”. Deras debutalbum ”Introducing Lukas Oravec Quartet” släpptes 2013 och vann priset ESPRIT 2013 för årets bästa slovakiska album. Lukas Oravec sticker ut för sin unika improvisationskonst och följer jazztrumpetstorheterna som Freddie Hubbard, Tom Harrell och Woody Shaw. Kvartettens artister är den kända pianisten Lubos Sramek och den endast sexton år gamla slagverkaren David Hodek samt den eftertraktade tjeckiska basisten Tomas Baros. Han är en av de yngsta, mest begåvade basisterna i den tjeckiska jazzscenen. Alla kvartettmedlemmar är också medlemmar i Gustav Brom Czech Radio Big Band. Under Stallet-konserten medverkar även den polske saxofonisten Maciej Sikała.

The Lukas Oravec Quartet was founded in early 2012. Its quality immediately struck jazz enthusiasts. The quartet won the top prize of ”Young Faces of Slovak Jazz ” and the quartet leader has won a ”prize for interpretive performance”. Their debut album ”Introducing Lukas Oravec Quartet” was released in 2013 and won prize ESPRIT 2013 for best Slovak album of the year. Lukas Oravec stands out for his unique art of improvisation and follows in the path of jazz trumpet greats like Freddie Hubbard, Tom Harrell and Woody Shaw. The quartet performers are renowned artists. The pianist Lubos Sramek is also known as a composer, arranger and a leader of the European project ”East European Artsamble”. At only sixteen years old, David Hodek plays the drums. He is a miraculous talent who has played since he was three years old. He has collaborated with many world famous musicians and received numerous international awards. He has released several albums as a band leader or as a studio player. The quartet is completed by a sought-after Czech bassist, Tomas Baros. He is one of the youngest, most- talented bassist in the Czech jazz music scene. He is also known for being a member of the best jazz formations around. All the quartet members are also members of Gustav Brom Czech Radio Big Band. The polish saxophonist Maciej Sikała will join the band for the concert.
